Vivino--Wine Tasting App

Hey Wine Chic-a-dees!
Sara messaged me this app called Vivino. It's an app you can use to rate and remember the wines you've tasted or DRANK! All you have to do is scan the bottle and it looks for it for you! Super easy!.
 Vivino-Don't forget the wines you loved or hated!!

The app is available for iPhone or Android. I've used it twice and it is easy to use! You can also have friends on there so we can see what we are all drinking or recommending! Great for when you are on Vacation and want to remember some bottles...dang timing, why couldn't we have found this before Italy??

July, 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

Finally we meet again! We had a great turn out. The foods were fantastic and the wines cold and refreshing.

All were smiles at this months wine club! We hadn't met since winter and it was past due! 

The collection of wines from the night.

1st place winner of the night! Raspberries paired superbly.

2nd place. Very light in color, almost looked like water in your glass. Notes of lemon were mentioned.

3rd place. Heavy bouquet of grapefruit. Very fresh and light.

 

Very light and not complex.

Hogue had several "likes".

Also had a lack of complexity.

 

New Mexico Wine, Not a SB. Very sweet.

Local Cottonwood Winery. Dessert wine.

Not a SB but we weren't picky by that point!

 NOW for the FOOD!!

Grilled apricots, goat cheese and arugula--OMG!

There was other great food, but someone forgot to keep taking pictures of that before they started drinking their wine!!!

Ok Wine Chics. Who is gonna grab April? We can't go this long without meeting! The bible needs to be cracked open!

February-old world wines

We Had a small group and some interesting variations this month. The theme was old world wines and finger foods.

Sara hosted. She made some delicious grilled cheesers. They had Brie and a cranberry sauce on a baguette!

Issy brought some yummy meatballs in a great sauce!

Mary brought a Mexican layer dip and chips.

Brooke brought satay grilled chicken and peanut sauce.

We started with a 2009 Bolla Sangiovese. It was very light in body. But east to drink.
We also had a great Chianti from the vineyard of Straccali.
The Louis Jadot 2011 Beaujolais-Villages was a very smooth finish.
The last taste and most unique was the 2007 Volteo Temranillo from Spain. It had a bouquet of the SW New Mexico Dairies but the flavor was deep and earthy. Pepper was noted. It went great with the chicken Satay.

Ok so I hope no one woke up too champagned out! But since we had some leftovers...I had mimosas.

Annual Christmas Champagne Party
